"Suge Nite-Nite"

"It only takes that one punch to turn you into a punchline" - Jay Smooth

Jay smooth's commentary more than sums up how I feel about what the definition of gangsta is... I lot of people in our culture [Hip-Hop] and by extension the inner city youth in general, believe that to be "street-gangter" is to achieve the pinnacle of their existence. Not knowing that the reason that they're even living in those communities is because the street-gansters aint really that gangsta... It's the dudes that went the "staight & narrow... took care of their families but own the corporations that create things in life that you covet [gold, jewelry, medication etc.] and the things that you even fear [like.. jail].... those my friends ARE the REAL gansters in this world.... dont be a fake-gangsta-poser.... step it up.

As usual Mr. Jay Smooth has some slightly witty but definately on point commentary about "Rap-steriods-gate" [ah..yeah I know that sounds corny...].

...Adapt...

Intersting insight from Jay Smooth [Ill doctrine] on the record industry's panic-like reactions to the revolution that is downloading music off the internet. The RIAA in particular is doing an absolutely horrid job of adapting to this inevitable changes in the music industry.

Note to record industry: adapt or get left behind [..........even further].

Kinda O'Riell-ed Up

Interesting commentary from Jay Smooth of the looong-running Underground Railroad radio show on WBAI [that name took me back to my high school days of listening to his show @ 2AM on a weeknight when I should be sleeping or studying...]. Everyone [that's not right-wing conservative.. that is..] already knows what a douche-bag Bill O'Rielly is. He recently went on one of his regular tirades against rappers/ hip-hop by criticizing Virginia Tech for booking Nas for a show on their campus. Jay does a good & slightly humorous job of exposing Billy for the contradictory, slimey, co-worker harassing, hate-mongering pr!ck that he is... chuuch!
