"Eclectic Relexation"

"Whether Yoga or Doja..." (C) Common

I know that all of you hard workin' tryna make a dollar-out-of-a-dime folk out there can relate to coming home and being totally worn out by the daily grind of making a living. It definitely takes a toll on me most days. So in my infinite search for self elevation and overall renaissancisity (C) [yeah.. i made that word up :-] have been dabbling in different types of Yoga sessions.

I was intoduced to it by an ex-coworker who told me that it would not only give me an excellent workout [lord knows that I need that] but also helps to clear your mind, relaxes those areas of your body that harbors tension and just make you feel more centered so I figured... eh.. worth a try I guess.

I initially tried it at my local gymn but felt a little uncomfortable doing all types of funny twists, turns and breathing exercises in front of a bunch of strangers... especially since I ain't gotz a clue as to what I'm doing. So I decided to look into some self-paced DVDs that I could get into at my own pace....

Everything was working well when I picked up a highly recommended Yoga instruction DVD . The only problem is that I have a slight problem of being disciplined enough to stick to the script and do my yoga sessions [story of my life *sigh*]. But lately I've made a commitment to myself to follow through with different initiatives and I must say so far I'm sticking to the script [so far... we'll see what the rest of the year brings :-].

The type of yoga I've been doing on DVD is Kundalini Yoga and so far it has really helped me relax and at the same time focus after a long day on the plantation. For all of you that say time is of the essence and you don't have any to be doing crazy contortions and stretches I would tell you to try and find a DVD that packs a good session in a few minutes... mine is split in 4 30-minute sessions. There are a bunch of good ones that are 10-15 minute sessions also... it's worth a try.. Open your mind and relax.
