R.I.P. James Brown 1933 - 2006

For those that don't know...especially those in that love Hip-Hop, James Brown almost single handedly revolutionized what is called funk and soul music and in many ways he was an indirect architect [through the numerous samplings of his music] of this phenomenon called Hip-Hop. His raspy but soulful voice coupled with the funky break beats and horn arrangements and his unpredictable dance steps directly influenced just about all of your favorite all-time pop and R&B acts of all generations after him [eg. Michael Jackson, Usher, Prince etc.]

He was one of the most important and influential figures in popular music and it is truly a loss to the entire music world.
