As of today I have officially handed in my resignation from the company that I have been employed with for close to 6 years. It was definately time to move on [as even my current boss attests to..] but I really have a big fear of the unknown. I am one of those dudes that likes to wear the warm & comfortable worn-in shoes 'til they wear out completely so-to-speak... I am not a big fan of culture shock. I will be moving from a company that definately has corporate values but have people [around me anyway] that are not-so corporate, to a corporation that is known to be as corporate as the come [a finance company].
Although I was quite bored with what I was doing and felt it was definately time to step-it-up, I will sure miss that predictable warm-&-cozy feeling that I got when i went to work every weekday mornin'. But as they say: No progression = Big regression. So I really hope I'm making the right move at this point in my life.....
Even if this career move goes well, I have a nagging feeling that this will be the last uber-corporate gig that I hold for a looong time... TBC..
