Nite Of the DJ

No matter how much planning you do for something, chances are that things aren't going to happen according to plan. For a few weeks I have been gearing up and getting my playlist together to do my first ever DJ gig for my wifey's aunt. She has a big annual BBQ every labor day weekend for the last 7-8 years now and this year she needed a new DJ. So with the help of some of my home-skillet infinite's DJ equipment, I decided to give it a shot.

I played under the pseudonym of "Paul.Onion" [a few friends are already familiar with the name] earlier in the day which was a lotta fun [my 80's segment was tight--if I say so myself]. Then my brother in law's band started to play and then there was Kareoke and more band sets and well...basically my heavily planned DJ set got wilted down to barely any play time at all which was a little disappointing.

We managed to make the best of the situation by playing the rest of the night to the few kids that were left dancing. The dance of segment [infinite's idea] was also a lotta fun. I think that imma probably work on some small gigs and have some fun with it...

PS: Thanks to everyone that came thru last nite...hope you had a good time!
