Beats By Tha Pound...

Yesterday afternoon was an afternoon that made me feel like I made a move toward a personal goal that for some reason has eluded me for about a decade. I signed up for a beatmaking tutorial course at Scratch Academy. I've always been a beat-nut. I love instrumentals and compositions of many hip-hop tracks more that the songs themselves. I've always had this desire to create an instrumental album of my own. Not for any fame or notoriety. Just for me & my friends to enjoy and to have the gratification of saying "I did that!". But due to a cross between procrastination and a fear that I might actually not have any skill in production, all I have done is buy expensive equipment which has collected dust over they years. My good friend Stan reminded me that the beatmaking classes are about start [he's enrolled in Scratch's DJ course]. So I figured at this point in my life its a do it now or just shut up and keep it moving sort of thing so. I dragged my lazy @$$ to the Scratch offices in SoHo NYC and signed up for the beatmaking 101 course [starting May 9th]. Let's hope I can bang something out of this...
